Pre-K – Second Grade
Children in this age group participate in “soccer activities” on Saturday mornings behind the Henniker Community School (HCS). They play for about an hour. The first half usually consists of drills with their team and the second half is a scrimmage with the team on the other end of the field. There are no additional practices for these ages. The season begins the Saturday after Labor Day and runs for 5 weeks (skipping Columbus Day, if applicable). The child must be four by September 30th of the applicable calendar year.
These children are required to have shin guards. A jersey will be provided and need to be returned at the end of the season. Soccer balls (size 3) will be provided for use on these Saturdays. Soccer cleats are not a requirement.
Pre-K: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Kindergarten: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
1/2 Grade Girls: 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM
1/2 Grade Boys: 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM
Third Grade – Eighth Grade
Children in this age group participate in the Merrimack Valley Soccer League (MVSL) and are subject to the rules of this league. Many more details can be found on their website, including basic schedules, schedules for the current year (usually posted late August) and MVSL Rules. Henniker teams will play other neighboring towns. Home games and practices are usually at the Old Concord Road fields. Practice times are set by the coach. A link to Practice Schedules for the current season can be found at the top of this page, after they have been set.
Third through sixth graders will use size 4 balls and seventh/eighth graders will use size 5 balls. Mouth guards and shin guards are a requirement for both practices and games. Our teams are provided a jersey (to be returned) and a ball to use during practices.
